CULTURAL IMPERIALISM

SPOKE

Dear Concerned Parties,

Passing observers might already be aware of this but...

The former Bill Drummond looks back at everything he has ever done in his working life to be little more than content for Western Cultural Imperialism, however niche that ‘content’ might be.

And when we say, ‘Western Cultural Imperialism’ we actually mean ‘American Cultural Imperialism’, as in the UK is little more than a vassal state to the USA. As in that is the real meaning of the Special Relationship. I mean, how many of those Born in The USA know where the real Boston or for that matter York are, or any other towns in the UK that have given their name to cities in the USA.

Anyway...

This might just be his version of ‘Woe is me’, but it begs us to add further question to the ever-lengthening list of question that are already clambering to be asked.

Yours Faithfully,

The Managing Director of Penkiln Burn Recordings
