Given a choice…
I would always rather be in a room on my own.
And given another choice…
I would always rather have my words spoken by someone else.
Today, my words are being spoken by a thirteen-year-old boy…
As in, the age I was when I first heard Strawberry Fields Forever by The Beatles.
This is the first of Five One Minute Plays being written and performed for Grant McPhee’s film Revolutionary Spirit.
This one is being performed in my bedroom in Corby in 1967 but…
Transitioned into the middle of the Penkiln Burn in the Spring of 2022.
The point of this play is to tell you that the moment of hearing Strawberry Fields Forever for the first time was the most important moment in my life to date.
