A GRAFFIC NOVEL
of
The Life Model
by
William E. Drummond

I am not good at thanking.

But...

I would like to thank all those that took the risk and allowed me to throw their name in the paper hat.

And...

Delivered their one-thousand words or troubled dream that then became part of ‘my’ novel The Life Model.

As in The Life Model, the past few days has begun its journey into the unknown world as a spoken novel.

But...

It is time to tilt the tiller to see what happens.

And that tilting has taken has brought me to an undiscovered let alone unexplored island called A Graffic Novel. And this Graffic Novel is making demands upon me before it allows itself to be explored.

And this is how the exploration will take shape.

All those that might be interested in drawing with pencil, an A4 size depiction of an event, as described in one of the years, both Over or Under, or one of the troubled dreams please respond to this email. And then your name will be thrown into the hat. And then your name will be drawn from the hat. And then you will be sent the text for the year (Under or Over) or troubled dream. And you will have forty days, to complete your A4 size depiction of and event using pencil. And email a PDF of the said depiction to admin@penkilnburn.com to be included in A Graffic Novel of The Life Model by William E. Drummond.

If more than one hundred of these depictions arrive, an edition of 400 copies of A Graffic Novel of The Life Model by William E. Drummond, in which you will be given full credit for your page. And your recompense for your work will be a copy of the book delivered to your home address by any means necessary.

Thank you again.

Yours Faithfully,

William E. Drummond

AN ACORN FOR AN HOUR

Friday the 2nd of February 2024

An Eagle for an Emperor, a Gyrfalcon for a King; a Peregrine for a Prince, a Saker for a Knight, a Merlin for a Lady; a Goshawk for a Yeoman, a Sparrowhawk for a Priest, a Musket for a Holy water Clerk, a Kestrel for a Knave.

And...

An Acorn for an Hour.

Or at least that is what I am willing to offer for an hour of your attention of what might appear on the Penkiln Burn website over the coming months of 2024.

The books will be balanced this coming October, when the Acorns begin their Fall. And when I will be sitting under an Oak Tree with my sack of Fallen Acorns waiting for you to turn up with your invoice for the hours of your Attention given to the Penkiln Burn website between now and then.

As for the which Oak Tree...

It will be a living one on the London Dead Oak Circle.

Precise OS Grid Reference will be made public when the first Acorn Falls.

If this payment does not seem just or reflective of the current market value of your Attention, I suggest you take your Attention elsewhere.
